About Smart Energy Switch
We are the business energy switching arm of Smart Energy Group. We compare the market for UK businesses across ten sectors, and it costs you nothing to find out where you stand.
Who we are
Smart Energy Switch is a brand of Smart Energy Group Ltd (company number 09806625), an energy services group based in Cwmbran, south Wales. The group has three arms: Smart Energy Homes for households, Smart Energy Business for on site efficiency work such as audits, LED lighting, refrigeration, heating controls and solar, and Smart Energy Switch for business gas and electricity contracts.
Doing the efficiency work first taught us where the money actually goes on a small site, and it also taught us how many owners were being quietly overcharged for the units themselves. A shop, a garage, a salon, a farm, a gym and a care home told us the same story: the bill went up, the contract rolled over, and nobody explained why.
So we built a switching service around how a business trades rather than around a postcode and a headcount. We ask what equipment runs, for how long, and what contract you are stuck on, then compare that against live rates from a panel of UK suppliers.

Free to you, paid by the supplier
You never pay us anything. Our commission comes from the supplier you choose and is included in the rates you see rather than added on top. If nothing we find beats what you have, you stay where you are.
Honest advice, including when the answer is no
If your current deal is already competitive we will tell you, and if an exit fee outweighs the saving we will say so. Every figure we show before you send us a bill is an estimate, and we label it as one.
No interruption to your supply
Switching supplier changes the name on the bill and the price per unit. The pipes, cables and meter stay exactly as they are, nobody visits the site, and nothing is switched off at any point.
Built around how you actually trade
We ask what you run and the hours you run it for, because a fryer line, a milking parlour, a spray booth and a care home laundry all buy energy in different shapes. The tariff that suits one is wrong for another.
