How we estimate savings
Every £ and % figure on this site comes from the model described here. Last reviewed 2026-09-21.
No figure on this site is a customer testimonial.
We have not published a named customer story, quote or saving, because we do not yet hold written permission for any. Everything you see is either a published benchmark, a calculation from one, or a figure we can substantiate from our own records on request. When we collect genuine, permissioned testimonials we will label them as such and this page will say so.
The spend-band model
We do not ask for your meter readings to produce an estimate, because most owners do not have them to hand. Instead we ask what your business does, how big it is, and roughly what you spend on energy each month. That answer places you in a spend band with a low, mid and high annual figure.
The business type and size then adjust that band. A dairy farm with bulk-tank cooling and a hair salon with the same monthly direct debit have very different load shapes, so we apply a multiplier derived from published per-m², per-bed and per-cover benchmarks for that format. The output is a range, never a single number: a low estimate, a mid estimate and a high estimate of your annual spend.
The saving is then that spend multiplied by a percentage band around the40% our customers save on average. That average is the business's own figure, supplied on 2026-09-21; it is not a published dataset, so we show it as a range and label everything an estimate.
One figure, shown as a range
“Save on average 40% on your business energy bills.” is the headline on this site. It is the business owner's own figure for what customers who switch through us save on their bills on average: 40%. That figure was supplied by the business on 2026-09-21; it is not a published benchmark and it is not a promise that every business will save that much. Some save more, some less.
Your estimate uses 30–50% scenarios. The estimate in every instant savings estimate is your estimated spend multiplied by a conservative (30%), typical (40%) and high (50%) percentage: the average in the middle, with room either side because it is an estimate, not a quote.
More if you are on out-of-contract or deemed rates. Out-of-contract and deemed rates are the supplier's default tariff, set without negotiation, and they are where the largest gaps sit. We do not put a separate figure on them.
72% is our best result to date on a single bill. It is one bill, for one business that had been left on a deemed rate for a long time. It is not typical, we never present it as typical, and we keep a copy of the bill on file so we can substantiate it on request.
What we cannot know
Until we see a recent bill we do not know your unit rate, your standing charge, your contract end date or your actual consumption. That is why everything before that point is labelled an estimate. Savings are estimates: typical spend from published UK benchmarks, multiplied by a 30% to 50% band around the 40% our customers save on average (the business's own figure, not a published dataset). Your saving depends on your current contract, usage and live supplier prices.
